Derek Stober has been a believer since he was a child. He attended youth group in high school and went on several missions trips. He started attending Iasis in college and followed Pastor Jeff when he formed LIFE Church.

Kari began attending church with Derek when they were still in the Messianic Jewish Temple. They started attending more regularly when LIFE moved into their current facility. Derek got involved as a leader with Engage when it was formed by Pastor Dave at the very beginning. He started Uplink in 2008; a small group ministry on Sunday mornings for junior high and high school students. Kari became a leader of Engage in May of 2008.

Kari Stober accepted Christ as a child, but did not understand what that really meant. She started dating Derek in college and upon finding out he was a believer she sought to know what it meant. She accepted Christ during her junior year and she and Derek were married three months after they graduated college.

Derek and Kari took over as leaders of the youth group in May of 2009 after the previous youth pastor and his family went into missions. They have a heart for teenagers and want to help them grow in their faith and build a strong and lasting relationship with Christ.
